(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)
The 33rd Congress of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) and the 11th Conference of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) on “Biochemistry of Cell Regulation” will be held in Athens Greece in 2008 (June 28th to July 3rd). More than 3500 scientists from all over the world are expected to attend the congress. Among the delegates are the Nobel Prize laureates Sidney Altman (Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, 2001), Sidney Altman (Nobel Prize in Chemistry, 1989) and Richard Axel (Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, 2004). Special events include sessions on ”Education in Biochemistry,” “The role of women in science,” and “Interrelations between science and society.” Young scientists have separately organised their forum that will be held at Loutraki (23/6-26/6).
