(GREEK NEWS AGENDA) Greece’s participation in the 40th international Book Fair in Cairo, Egypt (January 23 – February 4) was embraced with much enthusiasm. Egyptian President Hosny Mubarak paid a visit to the Greek pavilion noting that he was pleased with the number of Egyptian authors translated into Greek. The Greek stand participating in the biggest book exhibition in the Arab world was organised by the National Book Centre, which emphasised not only on the promotion of Greek authors but also on the editorial work performed by the members of the Greek community in the country, thus highlighting its broader contribution. Greece is currently represented at the Book Fair of New Delhi (February 2-10).
