(GREEK NEWS AGENDA) The International Music Competition for the Maria Callas Grand Prix for pianists was first established in 1975 and is successfully revived ever since. The 34th annual competition commences today until February 24, by the Athenaeum International Cultural Centre, an institution operating under the auspices of UNESCO, dedicated to preserve the memory of Maria Callas. Every year, young pianists from all over the world, unfold their virtuosity before a Jury Committee consisting of great pianists and pedagogues. The prize constitutes an esteemed blue ribbon for artists and enjoys international recognition.
