Greek Cultural Agenda

– One of the most important living performance artists, Frank Uwe Laysiepen, a.k.a. Ulay, comes to Athens on the occasion of a grand retrospective (1970-2006). The Ulay Month is open from February 29 to March 31 at Booze Cooperativa and takes place in cooperation with the Goethe Institut Athen. The exhibition consists of dvd projections of all his performances, with or without his former partner Marina Abramovic, photographs and archived material.

Wangari Maathai, the first African woman to receive a Nobel Prize for Peace delivers a lecture on environment and ethics. At the Athens Concert Hall, on February 28.

Ρatrice Chéreau comes to Athens to read The Great Inquisitor, chapter 4 and 5 of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Brothers Karamazov in a theatre reading, at the Olympia Theater, on March 3 and 4.

– Seventy mixed-technique works span Fine Arts School Professor Yannis Psychopedis’ creative course form the 80s to this day. From March 4 to April 30, at the Museum of Cycladic Art.

– The 4th Triennale of Architecture in Chania aims to highlight the architectural work of young architects and to constitute a platform of support to the οlder ones.  Until March 3 at the Big Arsenali of the city’s Old Harbour.
