(GREEK NEWS AGENDA) A tribute to Science Fiction Films: From April 3 to 9, in Thessaloniki. The Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Thessaloniki Science Center & Technology Museum “Noesis”, present the tribute “Science Fiction: Science or Fiction?,” which includes science fiction film screenings, as well as an educational programme. At the Olympion Cinema Theater and the Noesis Center. 9th Francophone Film Festival: From April 3 to 13 in Athens, and from 10 to 16 in Thessaloniki. The francophone production panorama, screening more than fifty French language films, will be presented at the French Institute and Attikon and Apollon cinemas in Athens, as well as at Olympion theatre, in Thessaloniki.

16th Mediterranean Festival of New Filmmakers: To April 6, in Larissa. There are two competitive sections, the Mediterranean and the International. This year’s guest of honour is Jean-Claude Carrier.

The Athens Concert Hall announced its April-June programme of events. The main thematic units are Piano Days and Brass Winds.
Mamma mia: Ticket Booking is now open. The longest running and most successful Broadway musical “Mamma mia” will be staged at the Badminton Theatre from May 6 to 25.

Theatre & Performing Arts
ACS Arts Center: From April 4-9. The Salzburg Marionettes will present the story of the von Trapp family, in an all-puppet version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “The Sound of Music.”
7th Dance Festival of the Greek Choreographers Association: From April 8 to June 15. The festival’s programme features fifty Greek dance groups, which present their work through parallel and rolling performances.

Hellenic American Union: From April 5 to 6. The festival of comics “Comicdom Con Athens 2008,” organised by Comicdom Press and the Hellenic American Union includes comics’ awards, screenings, workshops, seminars, charity sketch events, bazaars, as well as the exhibition “Spirit” with drawings by Will Eisner, founder of American comics.

Benaki Museum: To May 4. A retrospective exhibition of works of sculptor Natalia Mela seeks to cover all the phases of her artistic oeuvre. Divided into thematic groups, the exhibition includes over 160 works.

Genderpop Festival: To April 6. Co-organised by the Goethe Institute of Athens and the Athens’ Bios venue,the festival includes film screening, art performance, modern dance, concerts, dj-sets, video clips and parties with guest from Berlin’s artistic world.
