Greek Islands: Santorine

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)  Santorini island (Thera) was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions about 3,500 years ago. The eruption left a large caldera surrounded by volcanic and its effects may have indirectly led to the collapse of the Minoan civilization on the island of Crete. Apart from the uniqueness of the breathtaking landscape, the island is also famous for its distinctive wine production. Superb dry and dessert grape varieties cultivated in Santorini, give a special but excellent taste in its wines.
