Greek – British Journalist Released

I. Athanasiadis(GREEK NEWS AGENDA) Greek-British journalist Iason Athanasiadis was released by Iran on Sunday, according to reports by the Agence France Presse and Reuters news agencies. Athanasiadis, who works for the Washington Times, had been arrested during disturbances following the recent presidential elections in the country. The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew had lodged a demarche with the Iranian government for the journalist’s release. He has both Greek and British citizenship.
