Το αντικείμενο του πόθου κατά την "Εαρινή σύναξη των αγροφυλάκων"

(ONET.PL) Σε καταχώρηση με τίτλο «Plus Camerimage: ελληνικός και ισλανδικός κινηματο- γράφος»  (πηγή:  ΡΑΡ), αναφέρει ότι «στο πρόγραμμα του προσεχούς φεστιβάλ κινηματογράφου Plus Camerimage (Łodz, 28.11-5.12) εντάχθηκε αφιέρωμα στον ελληνικό και ισλανδικό Κινηματογράφο».
Ειδικά για τον ελληνικό κινηματογράφο σημειώνονται τα εξής : «Ο σύγχρονος κινηματογράφος της Ελλάδας, αν και παραγωγικός και δυναμικά αναπτυσσόμενος χάρη στις πρωτοβουλίες του Ελληνικού Κέντρου Κινηματογράφου και των διεθνών συμπαραγωγών, παραμένει μάλλον άγνωστος στην Πολωνία και προβάλλεται αμυδρά σε διεθνή κινηματογραφικά φεστιβάλ.
Το αφιέρωμα στον Ελληνικό Κινηματογράφο στοχεύει να προβάλλει στους συμμετέχοντες του Φεστιβάλ αυτό το κομμάτι της ευρωπαϊκής κινηματογραφικής δημιουργίας υπό την παρούσα μορφή του.
Στο ελληνικό ρεπερτόριο θα ενταχθούν έξι ταινίες της τελευταίας δεκαετίας που παρουσιάζουν τις σημαντικότερες ιδέες και την πιο επίκαιρη θεματολογία του ελληνικού κινηματογράφου. Το αφιέρωμα αποτελεί μια σπάνια ευκαιρία για να κοιτάξει κανείς τον ελληνικό κινηματογράφο από μια ευρύτερη οπτική γωνία και να διαπιστώσει το πως παρουσιάζεται σήμερα ο κινηματογράφος που γέννησε τον δεξιοτέχνη Κακογιάννη ή τον προβοκάτορα Κώστα Γαβρά.
Στην καταχώρηση παρουσιάζονται οι εξής κινηματογραφικές ταινίες που περιλαμβάνονται στο αφιέρωμα:

(ONET.PL) Współczesna kinematografia Grecji, choć płodna i prężnie

"Έντουαρντ" της Αγγελικής Αντωνίου

rozwijająca się dzięki inicjatywom Greckiego Centrum Filmowego oraz międzynaro-dowym koprodukcjom, pozostaje właściwie nieznana w Polsce i słabo reprezentowana na międzynarodowych festiwalach filmowych. Przegląd Kina Greckiego ma na celu przybliżenie uczestnikom Festiwalu PLUS CAMERIMAGE tego wycinka europejskiej twórczości filmowej w jej obecnym kształcie. Na grecki repertuar złoży się sześć tytułów z ostatnich dziesięciu lat, prezentujących najciekawsze pomysły formalne oraz najbardziej aktualną tematykę kina Grecji.
Przegląd Kina Greckiego to rzadka okazja, by spojrzeć na współczesną kinematografię Grecji z szerokiej perspektywy i przekonać się, jak dziś ma się kino, które wydało mistrza Cacoyannisa czy prowokatora Costę-Gavrasa.

The Olympic Torch Relay Lit up Enthusiasm

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA) The Canadian Press reports on the burst of excitement brought in Messolonghi by the 2010 Winter Olympic torch relay.

The stop in Messolonghi was the sixth of 35 and the town was chosen in part because it’s the birthplace of Kostis Palamas, co-author of the Olympic Hymn .
After the flame was lit in Olympia, the relay took off towards northern Greece for an eight-day run, organised by the Hellenic Olympic Committee. Over the course of its journey in the birthplace of the Games, it travelled 2,180 kilometres. Greece – Italy Pipeline

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)   Development Minister Kostis Hatzidakis held a meeting with his Italian counterpart Claudio Scajola yesterday (July 20) in Milan on the sidelines of the Economic and Financial Forum for the Mediterranean.  The two ministers had talks on the Greek-Italian Interconnector “IGI POSEIDON,” – an underwater natural gas transmission pipeline connecting the shores of Epirus with the Apulia shore in Italy- with the view to examine whether the pipeline can also transport natural gas from Italy to Greece, along with its current direction from Greece to Italy. The Interconnector Greece – Italy is a component of the extensive Turkey – Greece – Italy pipeline system through which natural gas from the Caspian Region and Central Asia is transmitted to Italy and the rest of Western Europe. 2009 Dedicated to the Poet Yiannis Ritsos

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)   Yiannis Ritsos -together with Kostis Palamas, Giorgos Seferis, and Odysseus Elytis have marked contemporary Greek poetry- and has been among the country’s most widely translated poets. A prolific writer – many of his poems, like Epitaphios and Romiosyni were set to music by renowned composer Mikis Theodorakis. 
Born on May 1st, 1909 in Monemvasia, Lakonia, to landowners, Yiannis Ritsos was often persecuted for his left-wing politics. That combined with the tribulations of his personal and family life (death of his mother and elder brother, his father’s commitment to a mental institution, his own struggle with tuberculosis since 1926) inspired his poetry and led him to receive many distinctions in Greece and abroad. He was awarded the Lenin Prize for Peace in 1977 and the 1956 State Poetry Award for his work “Moonlight Sonata” and was also nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature in 1968. He died on November 11, 1990.

♦ Marking the Centenary of the Poet’s Birth

In order to bolster research and disseminate the work of Greek authors and bring them closer to the general public, the Ministry of Culture and the National Book Centre of Greece (EKEBI) launched, some years ago, the initiative of commemorating one literary figure every year. This year, to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yiannis Ritsos the two institutions have planned a series of commemorative events such as the publication of a special volume dedicated to the life and work of the poet, the creation of a special website with extensive information on the poet, the preparation of a mobile exhibition which will travel around Greece and abroad, as well as the release of 12 commemorative telephone cards in collaboration with Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE). Also, since March 21, EKEBI has released a series of small-size posters on the Athens tram and metro.

♦ Monemvasia to Honour Poet

A much-anticipated exhibition to take place at the medieval fortress of Monemvasia this summer will mark one of the artist’s lesser known talents. “Ritsos the Artist” will be inaugurated by the French ambassador in Greece, Christophe Farnaud, on July 4 at the restored Agios Nikolaos Church, once the elementary school where Ritsos studied. Apart from some personal items, the show will mainly consist of watercolours, ceramics, and reed roots painted by Ritsos. Running through to August 4, the Ritsos exhibit is one of many events put together by the Monemvasia municipality and the show’s artistic director, composer Pigi Likoudi, to mark the centenary of Ritsos’ birth. Nowa epoka dla greckiego przewoźnika lotniczego Olimpiaki

(ERT)  Rzecznik rządu Theodoros Roussopoulos określił zezwolenie Komisji Europejskiej na zachowanie obecnej nazwy „Linie Lotnicze Olimpiaki” i kół olimpijskich jako duży sukces. Jednocześnie dodał, że mitem jest, że prywatyzacja firmy sprawi, że oddalone regiony zostaną  pozbawione rejsów lotniczych Olimpiaki.

Minister transportu Kostis Chadzidakis określił plan uzdrowienia jako „dużą interwencję strukturalną kładącą kres długoletniemu problemowi” i oświadczył, że interesy zatrudnionych zostały zagwarantowane, ponieważ plan przewiduje zatrudnienie części pracowników w nowych firmach lub w innych przedsiębiorstwach użyteczności publicznej, oraz przejście na emeryturę, a szczególną troską objęci zostaną pracownicy sezonowi.

Dzisiaj pracownicy Linii Lotniczych Olimpiaki zorganizowali pikietę protestacyjną na jednym z pasów startowych lotniska im.Eleftheriosa Wenizelosa w Atenach i zapowiedzieli dalsze akcje protestacyjne ale nie strajki.

Greece’s Television and Radio Frequency Charts

On July 24 2008, Greek Minister of State Theodoros Roussopoulos and Transport and Communications Minister Kostis Hatzidakis, held a press confrence for the presentation of the frequency chart for digital television tranmission and the frequency chart for analoque radio broadcasting in Greece. The digital broadcast trial period will be launched on November 1, 2008 with digital integration completed by 2015 at the latest, Roussopoulos said, adding that the EU is urging members to adopt digital technology by 2012. The digital frequencies chart is a serious attempt to put the broadcast sector in order, Roussopouloos said, stressing that consultations will be held with all interested parties before any joint ministerial decisions are issued setting the necessary preconditions.
