Ambasada Grecji w Warszawie oraz Uniwersytet Warszawski organizują wydarzenie z okazji rocznicy 2500 lat Bitwy pod Maratonem, który odbędzie się we wtorek, 23 listopada, o godzinie 12:00 w Sali „D „Auditorium Maximum Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego (Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28).
Wykład wygłosi profesor historii starożytnej dr hab. Ryszard Kulesza. Słowo powitalne wygłoszą Ambasador Grecji w Warszawie J.E. pan Gabriel Coptsidis oraz Prorektor Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego prof. dr hab. Włodzimierz Lengauer.
Powyższemu wykładowi towarzyszyć będzie wystawa materiałów archiwalnych, która będzie miała miejsce na terenie  Audytorium Maximum oraz potrwa do 26 listopada.

Cultural event to mark the completion of 2,500 years since the Battle of Marathon

On the occasion of 2,500 years since the Battle of Marathon, the Greek Embassy in Warsaw and the University of Warsaw organize an event, to be held on Tuesday, November 23^rd at 12:00 in room “D” in the Auditorium Maximum of the University of Warsaw (St. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28).
Mr. Ryszard Kulesza, Professor of Ancient History will deliver a speech, which will be preceded by greetings of Ambassador of Greece in Warsaw, Mr. Gabriel Coptsidis and Vice Rector of Warsaw University Mr. Włodzimierz Lengauer.
The event will be accompanied by an exhibition of archival material, which will be displayed at the Auditorium Maximum by 26^th November.

Πολιτιστική εκδήλωση  με αφορμή τη συμπλήρωση 2.500 ετών από τη Μάχη του Μαραθώνα

Η Πρεσβεία της Ελλάδας στη Βαρσοβία και το Πανεπιστήμιο Βαρσοβίας διοργανώνουν εκδήλωση, με αφορμή τη συμπλήρωση 2.500 ετών από τη Μάχη του Μαραθώνα, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Τρίτη, 23 Νοεμβρίου, ώρα 12:00 στην αίθουσα “D” του Auditorium Maximum του Πανεπιστημίου Βαρσοβίας (οδός Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28). 
 Ομιλητής της εκδήλωσης θα είναι ο καθηγητής Αρχαίας Ιστορίας κ. Ryszard Kulesza. Θα προλογίσουν, απευθύνοντας χαιρετισμό, ο Πρέσβης της Ελλάδας στη Βαρσοβία, κ. Γαβριήλ Κοπτσίδης και ο Αντιπρύτανης του Πανεπιστημίου Βαρσοβίας κ. Włodzimierz Lengauer.
H εν λόγω εκδήλωση θα συνοδεύεται από έκθεση αρχειακού υλικού, η οποία θα λάβει χώρα στο χώρο του Auditorium Maximum έως τις 26 Νοεμβρίου.

Olympus Marathon 2009

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)  Olympus Marathon, a unique trail running event held annually on Mount Olympus, took place on June 29. Participants gathered at the remains of the sacred city of Dion, at sunrise and followed the route itself which revives the pilgrimage that the ancient Greeks made to Mt Olympus in early summer – in June – to honour and to sacrifice to Zeus -the chief deity of the Greek pantheon. Starting from a sea-level altitude, athletes followed 44km of trails and reached the height of 2780m retracing history and myth. The winner of the Olympus Marathon 2009 is Spain’s Hernandez Gispert.
