(GREEK NEWS AGENDA) Two-time Oscar nominated actor Nick Nolte has been cast as a lead in “Arcadia Lost,” an independent film from “Chambers Productions” movie division that began shooting September 1, 2008 in Greece. The story of the movie refers to two teenagers (Halley Bennett and Carter Jenkins) travelling to Greece so as to discover themselves. Along this trip, they meet and follow a strange traveller, a character played by Nick Nolte. A coming-of-age road movie with a mystery at its heart, Arcadia Lost explores Greece through the eyes of teenaged Americans, mapping materialism and innocence onto timelessness and spirituality, according to the producers. Filming will take advantage of Greece ’s ancient and modern landscape, expertly captured by Phedon Papamichael (3:10 to Yuma , Sideways, Walk the Line), one of Hollywood ’s best known cinematographers. Arcadia Lost can be followed by film fans on a social website, “Follow A Film” on Facebook. Since 1974, the Greek Film Centre supports the production and promotion of Greek films and fosters the participation of Greek producers in foreign productions. Within its framework, the Hellenic Film Commission Office provides every possible service so that you can shoot your film in Greece.
