(GREEK NEWS AGENDA) The Old Town of Corfu was officially included in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) World Heritage List on April 19 at the island’s castle of St Michael and St George. According to UNESCO, “the urban and port ensemble of Corfu, dominated by its fortresses of Venetian origin, constitutes an architectural example of outstanding universal value in both its authenticity and its integrity.”
