The 7th International Conference for History of Science in Science Education under the title “Adapting Historical Knowledge Production to the Classroom” is taking place at the University of Athens from Monday July 7th to Friday July 11th. The idea of the conference is experts to exchange views on establishing the history of science in science education.

Media and Communications Students’ Conference in Greece

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)   The Secretariat General of Communication – Secretariat General of Information is hosting the “6^th Media and Communications Students’ Conference” on its premises on May 15-16, an event jointly organised with the Media and Communication Departments of the University of Athens, Panteion University and the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki. Graduating students of media and communication studies will take part in thetwo-day event, while topics to be discussed include: Greece’s international image, crisis communication management, social responsibility and media reliability. Minister of State and Government Spokesman Theodoros Roussopoulos will simulate a media briefing exercise with students’ participation.

 (GREEK NEWS AGENDA)   The Greek Language is one of the earliest attested Indo-European languages, spoken today by approximately 12 million people in Greece, Cyprus, Albania, Bulgaria, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Italy, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Egypt, Jordan and in emigrant communities around the world, including Australia, United States, Canada, Germany and elsewhere.

Turkey Unveiled in the Greek Bridge Magazine

Poetry

“Affirmation: Selected Poems 1986-2006” is a compilation of poems by Haris Vlavianos, recently circulated by Ireland’s biggest publisher Dedalus, in English. His latest collection was translated by Professor Mina Karavada (University of Athens) and is forwarded by Michael Longley, a Belfast-born, forceful figure in contemporary poetry. Born in Rome in 1957 but raised in Athens, Vlavianos took up the work of author, poet, editor, and translator of the Greek literary journal “Poetry,” and the website Poetry International.
