Εκδηλώσεις με την ευκαιρία του Ευρωπαϊκού Πρωταθλήματος Ποδοσφαίρου – Συμμετοχή του Γραφείου Τύπου

Με την ευκαιρία του Ευρωπαϊκού Πρωταθλήματος Ποδοσφαίρου “EURO 2012”, που διεξάγεται στην Πολωνία και την Ουκρανία από τις 8 Ιουνίου ως την 1 Ιουλίου, πραγματοποιήθηκαν ή συνεχίζουν να λαμβάνουν χώρα εκδηλώσεις, στις οποίες το Γραφείο Τύπου συμμετείχε στην διοργάνωση ή/ και στην προβολή τους.

• «Εβδομάδα Πολιτισμού των Ελλήνων της Πολωνίας” (Βαρσοβία, 2-8 Ιουνίου 2012)
  Οι εκδηλώσεις πραγματοποιήθηκαν στην γκαλερί Freta, στο ιστορικό κέντρο της Βαρσοβίας, διοργανώθηκαν από τον ομογενή μουσικό Δημήτρη (Μίλο) Κούρτη και τελούσαν υπό την αιγίδα της Ελληνικής Πρεσβείας Βαρσοβίας. Περιελάμβαναν συναυλίες, εκθέσεις ζωγραφικής, γλυπτικής και φωτογραφίας, προβολές κινηματογραφικών ταινιών, μαθήματα ελληνικών χορών, θεατρική παράσταση, συζήτηση για την επικαιρότητα στην Ελλάδα, γαστρονομία κ.ά..
  Συμμετείχαν μεταξύ άλλων ο μουσικός Μίλο Κούρτης και το συγκρότημα “Naxos Quintet”, ο μουσικός Κώστας Γεωργιάδης και το συγκρότημα “Edesea”, ο μουσικός Αποστόλης Άνθιμος και το συγκρότημα “Sefardic Trio”, η μουσικός Maja Sikorowska, το συγκρότημα «Όλυμπος», ο γλύπτης Χρήστος Μάντζιος, ο ζωγράφος Μιχάλης Χρυσουλίδης, ο φωτογράφος Κώστας Μάντζιος, η σκηνοθέτης Αθηνά Σαββίδη, ο δημοσιογράφος Διονύσης Στούρης, ο  καθηγητής φιλοσοφίας και μουσικός Ηλίας Βράζας, η βυζαντινή χορωδία της ορθόδοξης εκκλησίας Αγίας Μαρίας Μαγδαληνής της Βαρσοβίας κ.ά.
• Εκδήλωση Ελληνικής Πρεσβείας προς τιμήν της ελληνικής εθνικής ομάδας ποδοσφαίρου (Βαρσοβία, 9 Ιουνίου 2012)
  Στην εκδήλωση παρέστησαν ο γενικός γραμματέας Αθλητισμού, Πάνος Μπιτσαξής, εκπρόσωποι του επιχειρηματικού, ακαδημαϊκού, καλλιτεχνικού χώρου των Ελλήνων της Πολωνίας, πολωνοί ακαδημαϊκοί, δημοσιογράφοι και εκπρόσωποι φορέων και οργανισμών, έλληνες δημοσιογράφοι που καλύπτουν την συμμετοχή της ελληνικής ομάδας στο πρωτάθλημα κ.ά.
• Εκδηλώσεις της πόλης Legionowo εν όψει της υποδοχής της ελληνικής εθνικής ομάδας ποδοσφαίρου (Legionowo, 2 Ιουνίου 2012)
  Πραγματοποιήθηκε τελετή παράδοσης των κλειδιών της πόλης στον επιτετραμμένο της Ελληνικής Πρεσβείας, Σταύρο Σπυριδάκη.
  
• Πρόγραμμα Πολωνικού Σιδηροδρόμου για την προβολή ευρωπαϊκών χωρών στην διάρκεια του πρωταθλήματος ποδοσφαίρου και για ένα εξάμηνο (Μάιος – Δεκέμβριος 2012)
  Το πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνει την προβολή του ευρωπαϊκού πρωταθλήματος ποδοσφαίρου σε 20 τραίνα, 16 από τα οποία έχουν βαφτεί στα χρώματα της σημαίας των αντίστοιχων ευρωπαϊκών χωρών. Στις 19 Μαίου πραγματοποιήθηκε παρέλαση 5 τραίνων με τα χρώματα της σημαίας της Ελλάδας, της Πολωνίας, της Ουκρανίας, της Τσεχίας και της Ρωσίας, σε κεντρική γέφυρα της Βαρσοβίας.
  Το Γραφείο Τύπου συνεργάστηκε με τους εκπροσώπους του Πολωνικού Σιδηροδρόμου (PKP) για την προβολή της ελληνικής σημαίας σε πολωνικό τραίνο.
• «Λεξικό φιλάθλου» για την επικοινωνία των εθελοντών του Ευρωπαϊκού Πρωταθλήματος Ποδοσφαίρου
  Το λεξικό περιλαμβάνει σύντομες φράσεις στις κυριότερες ευρωπαϊκές γλώσσες και εκδόθηκε σε συνεργασία με την UEFA, το EUNIC Cluster Βαρσοβίας (EU National Institutes for Culture) και το Γαλλικό Ινστιτούτο Βαρσοβίας.
  Το Γραφείο Τύπου μετέφρασε το περιεχόμενο του φυλλαδίου στην ελληνική γλώσσα.

Greece at UEFA EURO 2012

Greece’s EURO 2012 final stage course has begun on Friday 08.06.2012 at 18:00, with the opening match against host country Poland (result 1:1), in Warsaw.
The second match of Greece was against the Czech Republic (1:2) on June 12 and the next one will be with Russia on June 16 in Group A of the Euro 2012 tournament held inPoland and Ukraine, between June 8 and July 1. The top two of each group will qualify for the knock out phase.

Greece, EURO’s surprise trophy holder in 2004, qualified to the tournament having topped its qualifying group with seven wins and three draws. This time, under a new coach, Fernando Santos, they hope to repeat past good performances.

The first football match of the Greek team, on the 8th of June, was attended by the Secretary General of Sports, Panos Bitsaxis.

Honorowy patronat nad imprezą objął Ambasador Republiki Grecji w Polsce.

Με την ευκαιρία του EURO2012 που διεξάγεται το καλοκαίρι στην Πολωνία και του πρώτου αγώνα που θα δώσει η Εθνική μας ομάδα ποδοσφαίρου με αντίπαλο την Εθνική ομάδα της Πολωνίας, το Ελληνικό Σχολείο Βαρσοβίας και το Πολωνικό Δημοτικό Σχολείο ν.323 ”Πολωνών Ολυμπιονικών”, θα συναντηθούν σε φιλικό ποδοσφαιρικό αγώνα, το Σάββατο 21 Απριλίου 2012 και ώρα 12.00  στις αθλητικές εγκαταστάσεις του πολωνικού σχολείου (ul. Warchałowskiego 4, Warszawa).
Η όλη διοργάνωση  περιλαμβάνει και διάφορες άλλες πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις και εκπλήξεις.

Euro 2012 Draw for Greece

Greece’s national football team will face Poland, the Czech Republic and Russia, in Group A of the Euro 2012 tournament to be held in Poland and Ukraine, between June 8 and July 1.
The finals schedule was confirmed on December 2, during the UEFA Final Draw Ceremony in Kiev, Ukraine. 
Greece will launch the tournament on Friday, June 8 against Poland in Warsaw, followed by the other Group A opener between Russia and the Czech Republic.
Greece’s other games will be on June 12 against the Czech Republic at Wroclaw and on June 16 against Russia in Warsaw.

A Global Tourism Destination

Greece is one of the top tourism destinations in the world. In fact Lonely Planet placed Greece among its top 10 destinations for 2010 and the Greek Islands were voted the best island destination in the world globally by Conde Nast readers in 2011.

Silver Medal for Greece’s Under-19 Basketball Team

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)   Greece’s under-19 basketball team won second place and the silver medal at the 2009 FIBA World U19 Basketball Championship in New Zealand, losing 80-88 to the US team in the final on Sunday. Croatia, who beat Australia 87-81 won third place.

64 Greek Medals at Mediterranean Games

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)  Greece collected a total of 64 medals in the Mediterranean Games, achieving incredible success. The Greek representation, which included many young athletes, returned (July 6) home having won 19 gold medals, 14 silver and 31 bronze medals during the ten days of the Games.  After an impressive 5 gold medals in rowing, 4 golds in track and field and 2 in karate and gymnastics, Greece celebrated yesterday (July 5) its second gold medal in judo with Ilias Iliadis’s triumph. In team sports, the men’s basketball team came 2nd, the volleyball team 6th, and the water polo team 7th. Greece will host the XVII Mediterranean Games of 2013 in the cities of Volos and Larissa. Talks for Fair Play in Athens

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)       Tackling problems concerning ethics in sport, the Council of Europe organised its 11^th Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport in Athens on December 11-12. Sport ministers and representatives from 44 countries participating in the conference passed three resolutions to make sport more ethical, autonomous and fair. Doping concerns, hooliganism, the autonomy of sports associations and cross-border crime, were some of the key concerns discussed. UEFA President Michel Platini urged European lawmakers to use bloc-wide liberalisation of gambling to protect football from illegal betting syndicates. Greeks Returning Home from Beijing 2008

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)  The 29^th Olympic Games ended on August 24 after 16 days and 17 nights of sporting celebration. Although not equivalent to the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, the Greek harvest of medals is considered well satisfying. Greek athletes won two silver medals, one in rowing (Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls) with Vassilis Polymeros and Dimitris Mougios and another one in taek won do with Alexandros Nikolaidis winning his second Olympic medal after Athens 2004. Another two bronze medals were won by Sofia Bekatorou, Sofia Papadopoulou and Virginia Kravarioti in sailing (Yngling class), while our 2004 gold medal winner Chrysopigi Devetzi reached the third place in triple jump. With regard to the doping incidents, the International Olympic Committee has commissioned a full investigation over the Greek athletes who were disqualified facing charges of illegal substances use. Greece: Kalymnos Island

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA) The island of Kalymnos (www.kalymnos-isl.gr), part of the Dodecanese islands in the Aegean sea, is the island of sponge-divers. Their stories about the difficulties of the past, the preparation, the “divers’ disease,” as well as the museum of the sponge-divers indicate that the past has left its mark on the future. Kalymnos – located at about 300 kilometers south east of Athens, and 100 north west of Rhodes – is now considered one of the must-visit climbing destinations because of its dedication to sport climbing.
