Παρουσίαση της πολωνικής έκδοσης του βιβλίου του Άλκη Ράφτη “Ο κόσμος του ελληνικού χορού” (Πανεπιστήμιο Βαρσοβίας, 25/10/2012) – Prezentacja książki Alkisa Raftisa “Swiat tanca greckiego”

Ο τομέας “Artes Liberales” (τμήμα Ελληνικών Σπουδών) του Πανεπιστημίου Βαρσοβίας και ο Σύνδεσμος Φίλων της Ελλάδας προσκαλούν στην παρουσίαση της πολωνικής έκδοσης του βιβλίου του Άλκη Ράφτη «Ο κόσμος του ελληνικού χορού».
 Η εκδήλωση θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Πέμπτη 25 Οκτωβρίου, ώρα 17:00, στο Πανεπιστήμιο Βαρσοβίας (οδός Dobra 72, αίθουσα στο υπόγειο).
Θα μιλήσουν ο συγγραφέας, εκπρόσωποι του Τομέα και μέλη του Συνδέσμου, ενώ Πολωνοί θα παρουσιάσουν ελληνικούς χορούς.
Στις 26 Οκτωβρίου ο Άλκης Ράφτης θα δώσει διάλεξη με θέμα «Ιστορία του χορού στην Κύπρο», στο Πανεπιστήμιο Βαρσοβίας (οδός Nowy Świat 69, 4^ος όροφος, Αίθουσα Παπαφιλίππου), ώρα 11:30.

Wydział “Artes Liberales” Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego i Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Grecji zapraszają na uroczystą promocję książki Alkisa Raftisa pod tytułem “Świat tańca greckiego”.
Uroczystość odbędzie się w czwartek 25 października o godz. 17.00 w sali konferencyjnej Wydziału przy ul. Dobrej 72.
W trakcie uroczystości głos zabierze autor, przedstawiciele Wydziału oraz członkowie Towarzystwa. Zatańczą też miłośnicy tańca greckiego.
W dniu 26 października Alkis Raftis wygłosi multimedialny wykład pod tytułem “Historia tańca na Cyprze”. Wykład odbędzie się o godz. 11.30 w sali Papafilipu. ul. Nowy Świat 69, IV piętro.

Summer Opera is an interdisciplinary outdoor event, entirely devoted to ‘the joy of music’ in a broad perspective: to create music, to listen to it, to understand it, to appreciate it and to dance on it.
Summer Opera is the follow-up of last year’s “Awakening of the summer” which was organized by the network of national institutes for culture and embassies in Warsaw: “EUNIC Warszawa” and CCA Zamek Ujazdowski and which brought 3000 persons to the castle on a warm midsummer night.
This year, once again, the gracious environment of the Castle will transform into a lively European boulevard and the keyword is ‘Opera’. Opera’ in the sense of a spectacular synthesis of arts; combining various elements, often surprising and sometimes disturbing, but always fascinating. The main role in the Summer Opera will be played by cinematography. 3 screens will show documentaries devoted to musicians, music and instruments. There will be animation- and feature films as well as music videos from several European countries and even a silent film. Feel like doing it? There will be a voice-workshop, lessons in Irish dancing, you can make music on what needs to be recycled and – of course – the opera brings also a music workshop for children and parents. Workshops are dedicated to everyone: those talented and those who cannot sing or play.
An Opera is not an Opera without a choir and an orchestra! Therefore on stage: Małe Instrumenty (Poland), Alfredo Costa Monteiro (Portugal) and Anthony Chorale (The Netherlands) and in the late hours: DJ Disco DJ Partizanti (Poland) and DJ PM Misha (Portugal).
For the hungry and thirsty the opera will serve Hungarian, Portuguese and Czech delights and more, more, more!
The opera brings thunder and lightning, but in case the weather is not in harmony with the opera, we will go inside. 
Workshops are open for everyone. No registration needed.

A movie for the Diolkos of Corinth

1.500 years since the construction and use of the Corinthian Diolkos, the Technical Chamber of Greece in collaboration with the Society for the Study of Ancient Greek Technology, created a movie presenting one of the greatest innovations of technical civilization of Ancient Greece.
The 22 min. film, created with the use of 3D animations, represents one of the most important technological monuments of Greek civilization, Diolkos: an overland route for the transfer of ships between the Saronic and Corinthian gulfs along the Isthmus (Corinth), when there was no strait. The film offers many other technical details, but also extensive scenes of marine life in antiquity: gaming, visit at the Temple of Poseidon, fun time in a pub, the construction of Hydraulis (hydraulic, water music instrument) and an emotional confrontation.

Greek film “Harisma” in “The Awakening of the Summer” events in Warsaw (17-18/6/2011)

Some 2000 people gathered in the park  surrounding the Center of Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw on the night of 17 to 18 of June, waiting for the dawn to break and officially start summer 2011.
The Press Office of the Greek Embassy participated in the event, screening the film “Harisma”, a comedy directed by Christina Ioakeimidi in 2010.  
The first nights of summer are strongly connected with the atmosphere of an ancient midsummer St. John’s Night. These nights are filled with growing craziness, pleasure, ecstasy, romance, desire, love, energy and allure.
Ujazdowski Castle hosted such a special night organized in close cooperation with  EUNIC in Poland  Warsaw. On one indoor and three outdoor screens a rich choice of European films were offered ranging from crazy colorful Austrian Pepperminta, hot romance animation from Great Britain  to scary Nosferatu  from Germany. The night was heathen up with performances of the Estonian band OPIUM Flirt, the Dutch/Danish/Polish band Très.B and a Romanian DJ. In addition there were dance performances and food and drinks served from various European countries.
17 members of EUNIC in Poland Warsaw contributed to the event.
At 10.00 p.m. the vice-president of the cluster opened the program underlying that “The Awakening of the Summer” is a symbolic present to Poland that for the first time in history is taking over the EU presidency on the 1st of July. EUNIC members wanted to express their support and gratitude for the hospitality they have been experiencing in Poland.
The program ended at 4.00 a.m. with breakfast at sunrise.

Εκδηλώσεις “Ευρωπαϊκής Ημέρας Γλωσσών” (Βαρσοβία, 20-27/9/2010)- Συμμετοχή Γραφείου Τύπου Βαρσοβίας

Οι φετινές εκδηλώσεις της «Ευρωπαϊκής Ημέρας Γλωσσών 2010» πραγματοποιήθηκαν στη Βαρσοβία από τις 20 έως τις 27 Σεπτεμβρίου.
Το Γραφείο Τύπου, για μία ακόμη χρονιά, συμμετείχε στη διοργάνωση των εκδηλώσεων προβολής των ευρωπαϊκών γλωσσών, εκδηλώσεις που στοχεύουν στην ενημέρωση του πολωνικού κοινού για τον γλωσσικό και πολιτιστικό πλούτο των χωρών της Ευρώπης. Η Ευρωπαϊκή Ημέρα Γλωσσών θεσπίστηκε από το Συμβούλιο της Ευρώπης το 2001.
Διοργανωτές των εκδηλώσεων ήταν δεκατρείς χώρες, μέλη του EUNIC Cluster Βαρσοβίας (European Union National Institutes for Culture): Ελλάδα (Γραφείο Τύπου Ελληνικής Πρεσβείας), Εσθονία (Πρεσβεία Εσθονίας), Ιρλανδία (Πρεσβεία Ιρλανδίας), Μεγ. Βρετανία (British Council), Βέλγιο (Πρεσβεία Βελγίου), Δανία (Πολιτιστικό Ινστιτούτο Δανίας), Γερμανία (Goethe-Institut), Πορτογαλία (Ινστιτούτο Camoes), Γαλλία (Γαλλικό Ινστιτούτο), Ιταλία (Ιταλικό Ινστιτούτο), Αυστρία (Αυστριακό Ινστιτούτο), Ρουμανία (Ρουμανικό Ινστιτούτο), Ρωσία (Ρωσικό Κέντρο Επιστήμης και Πολιτισμού).
Στη διοργάνωση συμμετείχαν, επίσης, το EUNIC Cluster Βαρσοβίας, η Αντιπροσωπεία της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής στην Πολωνία, το πολωνικό Ίδρυμα για την Ανάπτυξη του Εκπαιδευτικού Συστήματος, το Πανεπιστήμιο Βαρσοβίας, το Εκπαιδευτικό Τμήμα του Δήμου Βαρσοβίας, το Κρατικό Εθνογραφικό Μουσείο στη Βαρσοβία, η Δημόσια Βιβλιοθήκη της συνοικίας Praga (Δήμος Βαρσοβίας), το πολωνικό Κέντρο για την Ανάπτυξη της Εκπαίδευσης, η πολωνική Κρατική Επιτροπή για την Πιστοποίηση της Επάρκειας της Πολωνικής ως Ξένης Γλώσσας. Οι εκδηλώσεις τελούσαν υπό την αιγίδα του πολωνικού Υπουργείου Εθνικής Παιδείας, του πολωνικού Υπουργείου Επιστήμης και Ανώτερης Εκπαίδευσης, της Δημάρχου Βαρσοβίας και της Πρυτάνεως του Πανεπιστημίου Βαρσοβίας.
Η απήχηση των εκδηλώσεων τις προηγούμενες χρονιές οδήγησε τους διοργανωτές στην απόφαση για την φετινή διοργάνωση πολυήμερων εκδηλώσεων, με ποικίλο περιεχόμενο.

Η ελληνική συμμετοχή στις εκδηλώσεις, η οποία περιελάμβανε μεταξύ άλλων φεστιβάλ ταινιών, μάθημα ελληνικής γλώσσας, σεμινάριο για το ζεϊμπέκικο, ελληνικό περίπτερο κ.ά., διοργανώθηκε από τη Γραμματέα Επικοινωνίας, Μαρία Μονδέλου.
Αναλυτικότερα, η ελληνική συμμετοχή είχε ως εξής:

Ο “Χορός θανάτου” του Στρίντμπεργκ σε θέατρο της Αθήνας

 

Ένας αινιγματικός χορός για τρεις από την ομάδα “Υστερόγραφο”
Στις 14 Ιανουαρίου ξεκίνησε παραστάσεις ο «Χορός Θανάτου» του Αυγούστου Στρίντμπεργκ από τη θεατρική ομάδα Υστερόγραφο στο Studio Μαυρομιχαλή.
Ο Έντγκαρ και η Άλις ζουν σε ένα απομονωμένο νησί του Σουηδικού αρχιπελάγους.  Εκείνος είναι λοχαγός, εκείνη ήταν ηθοποιός αλλά τα έχει παρατήσει.  Πλησιάζει η 25η επέτειος των γάμων τους και εκείνοι ασφυκτιούν μέσα στο μικρόκοσμό τους.  Δεν κάνουν παρέα με άλλους ανθρώπους στο νησί, έχουν στείλει τα παιδιά τους στην πόλη για να σπουδάσουν και με κάθε τρόπο πληγώνουν ο ένας τον άλλο, κάτι που δεν εμπεριέχει απαραίτητα κακία, είναι στοιχείο της σχέσης τους.
Η έλευση του Κουρτ, εξαδέλφου της Άλις, στο νησί θα περιπλέξει την κατάσταση.  Ο Κουρτ έχει έρθει να αναλάβει προϊστάμενος του λοιμοκαθαρτηρίου.  Τους τρεις τους, τους δένει ένα κοινό παρελθόν και πιθανότατα διάφορα μυστικά, λιγότερο ή περισσότερο ένοχα. Ο Κουρτ θα ενταχθεί για στο μικρόκοσμο του ζευγαριού.  Οι καταστάσεις θα οδηγήσουν και τους τρεις σε ακραίες επιλογές.  Η αλήθεια και το ψέμα, ο θάνατος και η ζωή, αρχίζουν να μπερδεύονται.  Οι ισορροπίες θα ανατραπούν, ωστόσο λίγα πράγματα θα αλλάξουν. Ο Έντγκαρ και η Άλις.  Ένα ζευγάρι σε ένα απομονωμένο νησί, χωρίς φίλους και κοινωνικές επαφές.  Μοιάζουν να αλληλοσπαράσσονται μέρα-νύχτα.
Ο Κουρτ. Ο ξάδελφος, και αργότερα –ή μήπως και παλαιότερα;– ο εραστής της Άλις.  Μοιάζει άλλοτε για θύμα τους και άλλοτε για εισβολέας στη ζωή τους.
Διαβάζοντας το έργο του Στρίντμπεργκ η αίσθηση που είχα είναι ότι ο συγγραφέας δε θέλει λύσεις.  Αν τις ήθελε θα τις έδινε.
Ένας χορός για τρεις, αινιγματικός, σε μια παράσταση που επίσης δε θέλει να λύσει τα αινίγματα, αλλά να τα προβάλλει.  Η προσπάθειά μας ήταν να βρούμε τους τρόπους με τους οποίους ο συγγραφέας προβάλλει αυτά ακριβώς τα αινίγματα και να τους αναδείξουμε.

Nikos Skalkotas: A Greek European

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)    Vrontos Haris (ed.), “Nikos Skalkotas: A Greek European“, Benaki Museum, 2009.  The book was published to mark the sixtieth anniversary since the death of major Greek composer Nikos Skalkotas (1904-1949).  A group of fourteen musicologists, composers, conductors, historians, critics and translators collaborated on this volume, under the supervision of composer Haris Vrontos, who also served as its artistic director. Nikos Skalkotas was one of the most important Greek composers of 20th-century music. Bardzo duża część dzieła Poety poświęcona jest Grecji (wiersze, eseje, listy) – zachęcamy więc do obejrzenia spektaklu poetyckiego poświęconego kulturze helleńskiej. Grecja pojawi się w filmach, w koncercie muzycznym, tańcu. Festivals in Greece

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA)   Cosmopolis Festival: The International Cosmopolis Festival (July 16-20) takes place in the city of Kavala, with ethnic music and dance groups from Albania, Spain, Malaysia, Russia, Serbia, Nepal, Puerto Rico, Tajikistan and Greece. In addition to the concerts and dance performances, visitors may also participate in several workshops, watch films from the participating countries, as well as taste their ethnic dishes.
Festival of the Aegean : On the island of Syros, the fourth annual Festival of the Aegean is taking place from July 9 to 19, presenting classical operas and musical concerts. Famous artists from over the world perform in the island’s Municipal Theatre called “La Piccola Scala.”
